Three Tips For Having A Meaningful Retirement

As I was reading this article today about retirement making people more miserable than ever before, I thought, "Why in the world would retirement make an individual more miserable?

Then I realized that these folks obviously didn't have much to do to keep them busy in their retirement years simply because they didn't pre-plan what they were going to do after retiring.

According to the above article the following are three tips for having a satisfactory retirement (I've added some article links):

1) Stay socially connected.

2) Find things you love to do.

3) Plan how you will use your time. Also, see here, hereherehere, and here.

Last, but not least, the apostle Paul provides us with one spiritual tip for having a satisfactory and meaningful retirement in 1 Corinthians 15:58, by providing us a goal to keep us busy during our retirement years:

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Beloved, remember that even though we may be retired from secular work, there's no retirement in doing the Lord's work!
