Dependability -- A Character Trait Quickly Vanishing From The American Landscape

When I was growing up back in the 1940's, you could depend on another person to do exactly what he or she stated they would do. In other words, you could depend on them to get the job done. But in our growing lazy and irresponsible society, dependability is a character trait that is quickly vanishing from the American landscape.

In this America's Job Exchange article, the question is asked, "What Do Employers Want From Their Employees?"

The first and foremost answer is that "employers want employees who demonstrate dependability."

The article goes on to say: "Employees show dependability by taking personal ownership of all aspects of their job, including being on time, dressing and working in a professional manner, and demonstrating a high level of commitment. Managers like dependable employees because they set and maintain clear expectations."

The article then lists five other valuable characteristics that employers look for when hiring potential employees.

Do you realize that the Lord is seeking qualified workers for His kingdom as well? (Matthew 20:1-16). He too is seeking folks who are dependable in completing the task He has assigned them (Matthew 7:21; cf. Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16).

Beloved, let's not disappoint Him!
