A Day Without WInd

Can we imagine a day without wind? While wind reeks havoc on the hair as well as the nose (if you have allergies), there are many benefits of having wind (see here, here, and here).

Here in El Paso, we experience strong wind events from January through May. For example, today we are experiencing 21 mph winds, with wind gusts of 33 mph (see map). The highest wind gust recorded was over 70 mph last year (see article).

These wind events will continue until May, when the winds will die down, and hot temperatures will begin (see avg. weather here).

Spiritually speaking, there are wind events in our life, many of them very strong wind events, i.e., the death of a spouse, the loss of one's health, the loss of a job, etc.

But praise God, Jesus still has the power to say to the wind events in our lives, "Peace, be still" .... and a great calm will ensue (Mark 4:37-41).

Beloved, it's encouraging to know that true peace comes from the God of peace. The question is, do we "know" the God of peace? (see article).
