Over the past few months, I've had both young and older men and women open a hallway door, so I could push my mail cart through it in order to deliver the daily mail to the various departments within our administration building. I made certain that I thanked each and every one for their chivalry (courtesy), which is usually reserved for women only.
Another wonderful surprise took place today, when a beautiful young lady with a carryout meal in her hand, opened the front door of the restaurant where I eat from time to time, so I could enter and order my lunch meal.
Beloved, there are indeed advantages in growing old — one of them being that when strangers see the hoary head, most are still willing to courteously offer both older men and women any assistance they might need.
Thank God that chivalry is alive and well! (Leviticus 19:32; cf. 1 Timothy 5:1 NLT).
