After reading this USA Today article regarding physicist Steven Hawking testing his "theory" that humans must leave earth and seek another planet on which to live, this writer is appalled that an educated man such as professor Hawking. is obviously ignorant of the most important book in the world - the Bible (see here and here).There's no question about it, all humans "will" leave the earth when the Lord returns (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 1:5-7), but they won't be seeking another planet on which to live, for no planets will exist. All of the universe will be burned up with "fervent heat"- NKJV or "intense heat" - KJV (2 Peter 3:10; cf. Psalm 102:24-27; Isaiah 51:6; Matthew 24:35).
After the above event takes place, the Judgment will proceed (Acts 17:30-31; Matthew 25:31-46), the standard of judgment being the words of Jesus Christ (John 12:47-50). After the Judgment, the unrighteous folks will find themselves in "everlasting punishment" while the righteous folks will find themselves enjoying eternal life (Matthew 25:46).
Beloved, on Judgment Day, ignorance will not be bliss (Acts 17:29-30), and yes, there is a cure for spiritual ignorance (see here).
