Our Greatest Fear

As I read this USA Today article, regarding people's fears over mounting tension created by Syria and North Korea, issuing in the possibility of World War III, my mind immediately thought of the fact that God still rules in the kingdoms of men (Daniel 4:17).

He is still the sovereign ruler over all nations, including Syria and North Korea. In fact, when any nation refuses to abide by principles of righteousness, when unrighteousness becomes the accepted way of life, it is a nation that is fit for God’s righteous judgment (see here).

Is God wringing His hands, about what Syria and North Korea might do to start World War III?

No, not at all. In fact, He's actually in the heavens laughing at all nations who think they can overthrow His will (Psalm 2 - note vs. 4; Isaiah 55:8-13)

Beloved, we do not have to fret because of evil men (see here), for they are standing on "slippery places" (Psalm 73:18-19), and their demise is forthcoming.

And lastly, God will destroy the world when the Lord returns - not man (2 Peter 3:10-13).

Our greatest fear should be the fear of missing heaven (see here). To prevent this from happening, we should follow the inspired instructions found in 2 Peter 3:14-15).
