Mr. Sonnenberg lists six bets that are placed every day by folks who like to live life on the edge (my comment after each bet):
1) Getting rich quick --- Can't be done without certain failure.
2) Living large --- Can't keep up with the Joneses (see here).
3) Betting the ranch --- Protecting our existing assets is the only sure thing.
4) Taking care of business --- Heed warnings!
5) Facing the facts --- The rainy day is coming!
6) Putting all your eggs in one basket --- Diversification protects us against any downside risk.
In closing his good article, Mr. Sonnenberg asks this question: "Is it worth the gamble?"
My answer: No -- a thousand times No!
Rather, we need to trust God without reservation, allowing Him to direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). There's no gamble there -- it's a sure thing!
By the way, Here are some wise ways to live without regrets.
