The Vanishing Character Trait Of Punctuality

In past years, this writer has experienced several people, not only in the private business sector, but in the educational establishment (our local school district), and in the Lord's church as well, who have not been punctual in showing up at a scheduled time. Thankfully, I can depend on two working class men who not only show up on time, but show up before time and take care of the task at hand.

The first working class man, is my punctual mail carrier Phillip. Sadly, Phillip is going to retire at the end of November (a well deserved retirement!), and I will miss him and our daily short conversations dearly. Every day at approximately 11:00 a.m. (give or take a few minutes), I can always depend on Phillip putting up the Post Office mail in the mailboxes of everyone on my block (unless he is sick or his mail truck breaks down).

The second working class man, is my punctual air conditioner/heating man David. After making a scheduled appointment with David to start my air conditioner or heating unit, I can always depend on him to not only be punctual at a set time that we both schedule, but usually five to fifteen minutes before the scheduled arrival time. Even before he became President, Donald J. Trump expected punctuality of all the people who had appointments with him, including himself (see video beginning at 1:27).

All of us have had scheduled appointments at one time or another in our lives, whether it was getting to work on time, doctor's appointments, etc. Although we may miss some scheduled appointments in life due to various emergencies, sicknesses, car breakdowns, heavy traffic, etc., we need to know there is one appointment where we will not be late in arriving on time (see here).

Beloved, punctuality is one indicator of how dependable an individual is. If we are not punctual, we are simply not dependable. And that's the bottom line.
