Let's Have Bulldog Faith!

Finding both a knowledgeable and reliable commercial real estate agent can sometimes be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. However, my knowledgeable and reliable auto insurance agent found me one. She is very good at her craft, because she received three five-star online ratings from folks who used her as their real estate agent, for both home and commercial real estate listings.

The only problem was that when our elected church board president tried to contact the above lady, she never returned any of his telephone calls (for two weeks), even though he left voicemail after voicemail. After contacting my auto insurance agent again, he found out the reason why she never returned any voicemail message. The integrated voicemail inside her smartphone was for some reason not recording any left messages, and thus the commercial real estate agent was not returning any of her received calls.

Had this writer not persisted (like a bulldog) in getting to the root of the problem, our church board president would have needed to have contacted some other commercial real estate agent that may or may not have been as reliable as the above lady who had received the three five-star ratings.

The above experience reminded me of the importunate widow parable in Luke 18:1-8 NLT, where Jesus asked His disciples: "But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have [bulldog, i.e., a never quitting] faith?"

When we are beset by a seemingly unsolvable problem, let's not give up at the first sign of possible defeat, but with the Lord's help (Philippians 4:13), let's have the bulldog kind of faith that the persistent widow displayed ..... never giving up until the problem is resolved.

Beloved, where there's a will, there's a way ..... persistence pays off! (see here and here).
