Two Plagues

As I read this NPR article about food banks needing our help (see here) , there is the immediate realization that people (including children), simply don't have enough food to eat in our land of plenty (here is a list of food banks and pantries in El Paso). Toward the end of the of the above article, the above titled statement can be found.

Beloved, now that we are fully aware of the above problem and have the knowledge of the necessity and location of local food banks, let us take action in helping needy folks put food on their table (and that is including children).

Regarding giving to those in need, the following scriptures come to mind:  Proverbs 3:27-29; Matthew 7:12; Galations 6:10; Titus 3:8; 1 John 3:14-18.

Question: How much are we to give? Answer: According to our "ability" to give (Acts 11:27-30). Here and here is the spiritual principle.

But while there's a famine of food in our nation, there's a far worse famine that comes to mind concerning including both adults and children (see here).

Brethren, the world is starving for God’s truth (John 17:17). He alone can satisfy the spiritual needs of the human heart. Let’s help fill their hearts by sharing His Word today! (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16).
