Asset Management Device --- Why Is It Needed?

After shopping at one of our local grocery stores for the past two weeks, I have noticed that when I travel to a certain place within the perimeter of the grocery store parking lot, the grocery cart's wheels no longer move and I have to hand-carry my groceries to my car.

Wondering what in the world was going on, I observed a sign on the rear of the cart which stated, "Asset Management Device" -- an anti-theft device which electronically causes the wheels on the cart to automatically stop turning (see YouTube video).

Since grocery store carts costs money to replace (about $100 according to the above video), the above device ensures that the cart will not be taken from the grocery store parking lot and end up in "who-knows-where" land. This writer has seen carts in concrete water runoff drainage ditches, rusting away and can no longer be used.

Beloved, why is an Asset Management Device needed on grocery carts? Because as a whole, our society can no longer be trusted to return a simple grocery cart to its original place in a grocery store parking lot.

What's the solution to the above problem?  That our society get back to the Bible, to God, and to moral sanity (see here). When we get away from the Book, any society becomes more like the society found in the days of the Roman Empire (see here).

The question is, will we?
