Actor Kirk Douglas -- A Man Of Tenacity, Dedication And Commitment

After reading this American Thinker article about the recent passing and life of actor Kirk Douglas, one of the last great stars of Hollywood's golden years, one can plainly see the tenacity (note synonyms), dedication and commitment to his craft. Oh to be able to find members of the Lord's church today with such character qualities.

From the above article, one can plainly see all three of the above qualities:

"Through hard work and intelligence, he put himself through St. Lawrence University, graduating in 1939 with a B.A.  During college, he worked as a gardener, a janitor, and even a carnival wrestler.  After graduating, Douglas earned a scholarship to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City."

Kirk Douglas said of his father:

"My father, who had been a horse trader in Russia, got himself a horse and a small wagon, and became a ragman, buying old rags, pieces of metal, and junk for pennies, nickels, and dimes[.] ... Even on Eagle Street, in the poorest section of town, where all the families were struggling, the ragman was on the lowest rung on the ladder. And I was the ragman's son."

The key word in the above description, is the word "struggling." Beloved, the Lord's church is no longer "struggling" (note the connection between the word "strive" in Luke 13:24 and the words "laboring fervently" in Colossians 4:12) because its members no longer are displaying tenacity, dedication and commitment. If the above three qualities were to found in members of the Lord's church today, we would not be seeing it's slow demise, brought about by spiritual ignorance (see here, here, and here).

Why do churches die? See why here. What's the solution? Answer: A major religious revival designed to bring us and our society back to the Bible, to God, and to moral sanity (see here).
