The Word "Together" Versus Social Distancing

This morning at The New Clock Restaurant, my Christian friend John and I talked about the word "together" versus Social Distancing. Using the New King James Version, if we look in a Bible concordance, we will find this word mentioned 419 times (293 in the OT and 126 in the NT -- see here). In both the Hebrew and New Testament lexicons (see here and here), the overall meaning and idea behind the word is "unity" (whether mentioned in context for evil or for good).

However, the word "distancing" carries with it an entire opposite meaning (see here). If there is any "social distancing" occurring, it is because of the three letter word, SIN, which separates us from having a close relationship with God (Isaiah 59:1-2). Note the definition of the Hebrew transliterated word "Badal" found in Isaiah 59:2 (Strong's 914).

Beloved, it is God's desire that as His people, we not be "socially distanced" from Him, but to "dwell"  ["tabernacle" - Strong's 4633/4637] with Him (Revelation 21:3 - see here).

Any successful relationship requires a sense of trust between two people. In this case, between the believer and God (see here).

As God's people, we dare not be found "unsociable" or without natural affection (Strong's 794 -- KJV marginal reading - Romans 1:31) on Judgment Day. No social distancing allowed!
