The "New" Ten Commandments

The following American Thinker article has a list of "new" ten commandments that our present-day ungodly society has taken up as their own (see descriptive list). Author Deana Chadwell sums up this "new" society succinctly:

"This new society sees no point in truth, in duty, in individual rights and responsibilities. It places no value on self-control, on objectivity, on gentleness, on righteousness. We’ve been educated to think that the world offers us an unlimited selection of belief systems, but that’s not true. There are only two options –- the one that works or the one that doesn’t. We can go with the divinely provided way to live our lives, or we can jumble together some cheap substitute -- but history has shown us over and over and over again that produces nothing but death and destruction."

Yes indeed, Ms. Chadwell, regarding belief systems, there are only two options ..... "the one that works or the one that doesn't."

Once in answering Thomas the Apostle's question, "How can we know the way?" Jesus stated, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:5-6). Beloved, if Jesus is the "way" to truth and life, then logically there is no other way to come to the heavenly Father. Peter once stated regarding Jesus and His authority: "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

In her closing paragraph, Ms. Chadwell emphasizes our power of choice: "We get to choose which concept we want to encourage. Shall we shut down churches or shut down riots? Here we are at the crossroads. “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood….”

This writer strongly suggests taking "the road not taken" or the road less traveled, for taking that road will indeed make all the difference in the world as to where we spend eternity.
