Bars And Restaurants Full, Churches Empty

During the upcoming Labor Day weekend, the bars and restaurants will be full, but the churches will be empty (figuratively speaking). Why is this so? Simply because the fleshly influence of the world (1 John 2:15-17) will hold greater sway than the spiritual influence exerted by God through His word, the Bible (Matthew 11:28-29; cf. Psalm 38:1-4).

Our Lord made known the fact that whatever our priorities in life are, the desires of our heart will be found there as well (Matthew 6:21 NLT).

The idea of denying oneself (Matthew 16:24) of the world's evil influence through various vices that Satan places before us (Matthew 4:1-11 NLT), is not an easy thing to do, but it's a "must" thing to do if we are to see the beauties of heaven (see article).

Beloved, if we are worldly in our thinking, we "must" be willing to change our mindset to the mindset of our dear Lord (2 Corinthians 10:1-6; Philippians 2:1-15; cf. 1 Peter 2:20-21), and follow the inspired instructions found in Colossians 3 (NLT).

Please "think" on these things during this Labor Day weekend and have a great one!
