Motorized, Digitized, And A Prayer For The New Year

If there is one truth regarding our present day society, it is the fact that we are both motorized (the owner of the house across the street has five vehicles, three of them parked in the street) and digitized, both of which are nothing more than worldly distractions, distracting us from seeing what is really important in this earthly life, i.e., developing needed friendships (see here) and drawing closer to the God who created us (Genesis 1:26-27; Ecclesiastes 12:13; 1 John 3:18-24 -- see here).

As we enter into this New Year - 2019, this writer's prayer is that God will bless us in developing those needed friendships and drawing closer to Him as we daily look into the mirror of His word (Psalms 1:1-2; Acts 17:11; James 1:17-25 -- see here and here), allowing it to change our lives (Romans 12:1-2 - note the word "transformed" -- see article) from any ungodliness that we might display (see here, and here) to godliness; from hatred to love toward ourselves and our fellow man (see here), that we might become more like our Lord and Savior (Galations 2:20; 1 John 2:1-11; 3:14-18) "who went about doing good" (Acts 10:36-38).

Beloved, there are many things we can overcome in 2019, through the help of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (here are 10 of them).

In fact, we can overcome anything the world throws at us in 2019, simply because Christ overcame the world (John 16:33; Matthew 4:1-11; 1 John 4:4-5; cf. Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:1-2).

Lord, by Your grace, love, and mercy, allow us to experience a spiritually successful and prosperous New Year - 2019, in Jesus' name, Amen!
