A Labor Of Love

As I read this CNBC article regarding former hedge fund guru, Jim Cramer's dire prediction that because of COVID-19, the dine-in restaurant will soon be history, I thought about this local restaurant that my retired Christian friends and I go to every Monday morning.

At fifty percent capacity, "The New Clock" restaurant is just perfect for my friends and I to quietly discuss the news of the day and how we might solve the multitude of problems our society now faces through the use of Bible principles and precepts. The beauty of fifty percent capacity is there is no over-crowding of people (some restaurants are pleased with half capacity -- see here).

In the above article, my eyes fell on Mr. Cramer's future assessment for most restaurants: “Unfortunately, your favorite sit-down restaurant probably can’t survive on delivery alone,” Cramer said. “I’m not saying they’ll all go under, but that restaurant that you like had better be a labor of love for the chef."

Fortunately, "The New Clock" restaurant does have a chef with "a labor of love" attitude for his customer base. This is why the restaurant has been in business for over thirty years, with no hint of ever shutting down. Not only does the chef have this "labor of love" attitude, but the restaurant owner and employees who serve their customers, have the same selfless and giving attitude.

Now if we could only get the people of God to have the same selfless and giving attitude when it comes to the worship assembly and social interaction (see article).

Beloved, let's take a stand!
