Motor Scooters, Racing, And Eternity

While returning home from my morning walk, I observed a man on a motor scooter racing down the street where I was walking. He must have been traveling an estimated 60 - 80 mph before coming to a stop sign entering onto a main thoroughfare.

My conclusion to the obvious recklessness of the above man, was that he must have had a death wish, not unlike this man.

The only thing he was racing to (other than a metal water utility pipe and cement retaining wall.), was the mortuary, cemetery, and eternity.

Why do individuals do such foolish things as the above individuals did?

1) They obviously need constant attention and will do everything in their power to acquire it.

2) They haven't considered the fact that being a frail human being, a man has got to know his limitations (see herehere, and here).

3) They also haven't considered the fact that death and eternity are a reality, and we have to prepare ourselves for both.

The bottom line: Let's slow down and smell the roses, living each day as if it were our last day on earth, for the music won't last!
