According to this KVIA article, "AAA coined the phrase "intexticated" for it's campaign theme of “Don’t Drive Intoxicated – Don’t Drive Intexticated.” The educational campaign is designed to compare the dangers of drinking drunk to driving while using a cell phone. The campaign targets drivers who would never consider drinking an alcoholic beverage behind the wheel, and yet, regularly engage with mobile devices that dangerously take their eyes, hands and minds off the road."
Folks, creating a new word, i.e., "intexticated", will in no way change human irresponsibility. People are always going to do what they "want" to do - no more and no less (see here).
You can't force irresponsible people to be responsible if they don't "want" to be responsible (see here and here). As I wrote in this article, "Self-discipline is the key to maintaining individual responsibility" (see here).
Self-discipline can only be attained by setting godly priorities. The solution then to the above problem of driving while "intexticated" is to (1) put down our distracting phones, and (2) prioritize what's really important in life, i.e., the safety of the people who are riding in our vehicle whom we claim to love (seeking their best interests at heart - 1 Corinthians 13:4-5; Philippians 2:2-4 NET).
Beloved, we don't need another useless rule or another new word ..... we just need responsible people setting responsible priorities (see here and here).
