Words Of Wisdom: Don't Do Stupid Things, Life Is Short, Live Life To The Fullest

As I read theses two news reports here (NBC), here (USA Today), and looked at the lyrics of the classic Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young song, "Wasted On The Way" (see video), I thought of the above titled heading. The words of wisdom in the above title, encourages us:

1) Not to do stupid things, such as the teenage girl in the above NBC news report, who is seen licking Blue Bell ice cream, who knowingly had the flu (note that she is laughing in this footage). According to the Texas state penal code, she could face a second-degree felony charge of tampering with a consumer product, which comes with a two- to 20-year prison term and up to $10,000 in fines.

If convicted of this crime, this young lady's life will be forever changed (in a negative sense), and she won't be laughing any more. She will hopefully realize the wisdom that staying out of trouble is an important aspect of experiencing a successful life. She desperately needs the 2-D's.

2)  That life is short (see above USA article regarding the death of Chris Cline (see picture), billionaire coal mining entrepreneur from West Virginia, who was only 60 years old).

Mr. Cline did not take into consideration that life is indeed short! This is why we need to live today as if it were our last day on earth (see here).

3) Live life to the fullest, learning to reconcile with close associates with whom we have differences and dispense with any grudges we might want to hold on to (see here and here).

Crosby, Stills and Nash did (see rated #1 General Comment here under the above "Wasted On The Way" lyrics -- scroll down the page).

Beloved, as in the chorus of the above lyrics: "And there's so much time to make up, Everywhere you turn, Time we have wasted on the way, So much water moving, Underneath the bridge." Let's not waste one precious moment of either time or life. Let's make our priorities be about the Lord's business, remembering that "only what's done for Christ will last."
