Solution To Cultural Rot And Mental Illness

While reading this American Thinker article today, I noticed that the phrase, "mental illness" is mentioned ten times. The author of the article (Fletch Daniels) states that mental illness is: (1) trending upward; (2) causes a significant rise in suicides; (3) manifesting itself in culture rot resulting in suicide, drug addiction, and violent crime; (4) aggravated by seizing guns; (5) worsened by cultural shifts away from intrinsic goals, such as a sense of community and meaning of life.

Regarding the increase of mental illness (and contrary to popular belief), it's interesting to note that President Ronald Reagan did not close down any mental institutions, thus dumping all mentally ill patients out on the streets (see here). The mental illness responsibility that was rightly redirected to the states by President Reagan, failed because state officials failed in maintaining that responsibility because of their own budget issues (see here). They simply didn't understand how to properly manage the monies that had been allocated to them.

Therefore, we need to bring state-run mental institutions back into our society with proper state funding for the professional help that mental patients so desperately need instead of putting them out on the streets of mainstream society. The author of the above article, provides the reader with the following solution: "We must work to fix the cultural rot that has caused so much damage to America.  Rebuilding institutions that bring community and meaning and reaffirming the sanctity of life would be a good place to start."

Beloved, the only way we can truly "fix" the cultural rot that has caused so much damage to America as described above, is to reintroduce (not rebuild) the spiritual church or kingdom - (interchangeable) that Jesus built (Matthew 16:18-19; John 18:36), that He "purchased with his own blood" (Acts 20:28; cf. Hebrews 9:11-14), bringing it back into society (along with the Bible , God, and moral sanity -- see here) ..... a society that has kicked God of it (Romans 1:16-32) -- also see here, here and here).

Not only bringing the Bible back into our schools and homes, but for people to actually read, heed, and obey what it tells them to do in order to be pleasing to God, our sovereign Creator (specifically, the New Testament and the Lord's church that it emphasizes - see herehere, and here).
