Man's Inability To Control Events

As I read this National Review article by Matthew Continetti, the thought hit me that categorically speaking, we are in control of very little here on this celestial globe called earth. Note the following phrase is mentioned twice in the above article: "The pandemic has robbed Trump of his ability to control events."

Beloved, in all reality, none of us as human beings can control events here on earth. Why? Because the sovereign God of the universe is in complete charge and control over His creation and man is not (see Psalm 2 and article). Beloved, the greatest revelation to man, is when he discovers that he is not God (see here and Daniel 4, specifically noting vs's 17,25,32).

And as I wrote in my above article entitled, "We Are In Control Of Very Little" ..... "Ultimately, we are the only ones in control of our eternal destiny. Our parents, friends, or spouses do not determine where we will spend eternity. It is easy to blame someone else — but in the final analysis, we must accept responsibility for ourselves, for we will give an account for ourselves before Almighty God (2 Corinthians 5:10).

God’s decree regarding our eternal state is based on our response to Him (Romans 2:4-11; cf. Joshua 24:14-15). We sometimes forget that we are the clay and God is the Potter (see here).

The last few words in Mr. Continetti's above article states: "But here, today, the virus rules." No, Mr. Continetti, God still rules in the kingdoms of men (see here) and through His providence, He and He alone will determine the purpose and the outcome of this coronavirus pandemic (see here and here).

One last thought. How do we live successfully in these perilous times? The last paragraph of this article provides the answer.
