Seventy-Six Years And Some Personal Observations

As this writer is celebrating seventy-six years on this celestial globe called earth today (by God's grace), the following are some personal observations:

1) Our society in 2020 is more artificial than ever before (see here and here). Today, I received a pre-programmed telephone call alerting me that I have a lab appointment tomorrow to run some yearly tests .... no human interaction at all; Received the 2020 census which questions are all online ..... no human interaction at all; Received a happy birthday call left on my telephone voicemail from my bank ..... no human interaction at all. Beloved, people are starving for face-to-face conversation! (see here).

2) Because of our society's influence and adherence to godless human idealogies or "isms" (see here and here), the Lord's church is no longer the spiritual force that it was back in the 1940's and 1950's (see Christian Chronicle article). We are living in a similar society as found in Isaiah 1:4; Jeremiah 7, noting the key word "backward."

Why has our society gone "backward" you ask? Simply because "they did not obey or incline their ear [to God's counsel], but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward" (Jeremiah 7:24); plus the fact that our society "took God out" of it (and the Lamb) three generations ago beginning in 1960 (however, it only takes one).

3) We have allowed technology to become our master rather than our servant (see here, here, and here -- here is the cure!). And if we're going to be addicted to something, let's be addicted to the spreading of the saving gospel of Christ (see here and Acts 5:41-42; Acts 20:17-21).

The question becomes, "How do we live successfully in these perilous times which will grow increasingly worse?" (2 Timothy 3:13). Along with this article, the last paragraph in this article provides us with the biblical answer.
